John Vogl

I’m really impressed by this kids niche in the poster scene. Bringing hand drawn illustrations to the poster scene requires great vision and dedication. His color choices are super fresh as well and his use of texture makes things really pop. Follow John, he’s prolific in his quality and output. John draws everything up and screen prints it all himself. Make sure to spend time at his SITE as well at his Etsy shop, I sure am.
A Small Adventure
Some of our good friends have started an Etsy shop called “Small Adventure”. They have some really cool handmade products and printed goods. Why go get something mass produced when you can get these one of a kind goods! Here are a couple pics, but check out their store and blog for more details! Also, there is a giveaway hosted by iartu to win some of these items!!!

Keith Davis Young

Ben sent me this today! This fits so true to me. Something about the evening brings lot of inspiration, maybe cus i’m the most awake then ;D Keith mixed in coffee grounds into the black ink on the print, scratch and sniff style! That’s terrific and certainly fits the work to the early dawn feel.
You can get this print via keithdavisyoung@gmail.com its $35 bones. NICE
No Theft
No Theft aka “50% of Le Grand Cru” aka Tommy is so damn talented. It wouldn’t be fair to NOT share his other works with you. Tommy, hope you don’t mind me doing this.
So besides playing in a band, designing for Le Grand Cru, and just being a friend to everyone, Tommy is building his portfolio and has been designing posters for other friends. Here are a few:

So if you need or know anyone that needs some work done, holler at my boy while he’s still affordable!

GET PATRIOTIC

Thank you Beauchamping for a swell print. It’s terrific & I love how huge Alaska is, I guess I didn’t know that it has 656,425 square miles of land w/ water. Thanks for the lovely design and state knowledge!
Adolphe Mouron Cassandre

I’ve been getting into this gents work a lot lately, sharp images & fonts, it relies a lot on implication more than doing the obvious. My style exactly! Check out more of his work HERE

Keepin Time
My friend Anna hooked me up with this site with amazing clocks. This one is my favorite and will be on my wall in the near future. 28 bones, get one HERE

SEDUCTIVE ESPIONAGE
Kevin Dart has put his time in on some amazing illustrations featuring his Le Femme character Yuki 7. It has a storyboard of 60′s Bond themes and all things spy related. The art work is amazing in its ruff appearance and has fine attention to an era of chic fashion/architecture/interior design. I’m inspired whenever i look at his work and will be adding some of his prints to my collection soon. Find out more about KD ->HERE<-

Mad Rad
Not sure if you remember, but we posted a little while ago about a duo called Fresh Espresso. Well, our good friend, P Smoov (half of that duo), is involved with another group that’s killing the scene here in Seattle. Seems like someone’s got the “Midas touch”. This group just recently played at the Sasquatch! Music Festival and word on the street is that they sold more CD’s then all the other artists there. Shout out to Smoov and the rest of his group Mad Rad. They’re on the front page of Seattle Weekly and have a nice little 5 page write up. Read it by clicking here. We see you fellas!
Latest Works
I love doing poster design and i’ve had the pleasure of doing some lately.
First is the official tour poster for Garage Voice, Noah & Abby Gundersen, and Tom Rorem. Ben Blood took the snap in the tour poster at one of my favorite Sea-town joints Bauhaus. The vision of the poster was to emmulate Wes Andersen in character and composition. I found Futura was the font he uses on all his films and had to add it in a Life Aquatic kinda way. Voila!
Second is a poster for a folk rock night at the Q Cafe including some great tunes from some northwest kids. Our good friend Tony Kevin asked me to do a poster for it so i started thinking of old hatch print techniques and type then proceeded to use 2 colors in case there was a budget for them to be screen printed. I really hope they get screened, t’would be d’lish.
Third is me playin’ around with a northwest theme to attach to the Garage Voice name, mountains, the purple gloom of rainy clouds, the compass needle pointing to the northwest, and trees making the initials for GV. I should have thrown in a Subaru, Birkenstocks, anything REI, and a Trader Joe’s bag!
