The Globes

Through friends, I’ve gotten to meet The Globes, and have even been fortunate enough to have shared a few meals with them. These guys are not only extremely talented, but just a fun group to be around. The Globes was the first local Northwest band my friend Ben Blood introduced me to. I still remember going to their smaller shows and Ben saying, “they should be signed” 2 years ago. This video is stunning in every way. Great job fellas, and keep up the amazing work.

Lemolo

Sometimes when you think of a music duo, you’re not sure what to expect. But these girls are AMAZING! For the brief sweet sounds, I get transferred to another world, as if nothing else matters. They just did a KEXP In-Studio Session, and it’s awesome seeing the momentum build for them.

Here are the vids (the first is the one on our Japan Compilation album):

I’m hoping to catch them live very soon! Keep up the great work girls!

NOAH GUNDERSEN

3 days ago our friend Noah Gundersen tweeted he would be in Dallas recording a record. I’m not sure if everyone caught this fantastic news or not, SO I’ve compiled some of his recent snaps from twitter for some insight. Looks like Cello is involved, birds eye view of a sweet pool, Abbey, and a sweet looking Martin guitar. Good signs for an album to come! Come out to the High Dive on May 26 to see Noah, hopefully he’ll be playing some of these new songs then.

TONY KEVIN JR – POVERTY

This past Sunday our good friend Tony Kevin Jr released the physical copy of his latest EP Poverty at Conor Byrne. Until then you could only find in on his bandcamp. Tony has been reppin Le Grand Cru since we went public, wearing our shirts on stage, talking about us on stage, buying shirts for his friends, CRAZY love from our boy Tony.

In this latest work he shares in song form a standard lived by the sacrificial figures Mother Teresa & Gandhi that he desires his own purpose/life to reflect. That’s a lot to live up too, BUT if a song like these can get so easily stuck in your head, than their constant reminder may produce the transformation Tony hopes for himself & his listeners.

Tony recently had an deeply insightful interview with City Arts on this release. Read it HERE

Please listen to the Poverty EP HERE

I’m really liking the quick changes thru this video & that it look like it was filmed with 8mm film. NiCE!

FLEET FOXES NEW SINGLE!

Goodness! I’ve been wondering when anything new would come from these Seatown natives. I know Robin & J. Tillman have been busy on the road, and when D U N G E N were here last year the entire FLEET got up on stage for a couple songs, twas epic, but nothing beats their combined efforts. The new record is in stores May 3 and if you are in our hood they are playing at the Moore the same day ->Pre-Sale starts today and Public tomorrow, get your mitts on them while you can! See if they are in your neck of the woods HERE
