Shiny Graffiti
Wow, this is sick. Have you ever found a penny on a sidewalk and picked it up? How about coming across thousands of pennies lying around in such an order as this?! Super clever! Bravo!

Incredible! This makes me believe in originality again
sweet! hmmmm gotta be a few hundred dollars worth! where is this again?! hehe
Wow! That’s freaking amazing! I love it!
Silly and completely awesome. Beautiful.
Photoshopped.
Read about this a while ago in the newspaper. It happened somewhere in Holland, dont remember where exactly. The coins (I believe they were all 1 euro cents) were not fixed to the ground. Obviously this caused people to sweep up a bunch of coins and take it. The work of art did not last long.
Awesomely Awesome!
this definitely doesn’t make me believe in originality. This was taken from somewhere but this site isn’t providing credit to the creators or providing any further information about the project at all.
@Dead C: OMG THIS IS SO NOT ORIGINAL BECAUSE IT WAS ON ANOTHER SITE FIRST, THEREFORE THEIR AMAZING ARTWORK DOESN’T COUNT.
Shut the fuck up.
This was made by Stefan Sagmeister. You can read more about this project here http://sagmeister.com/urbanplay/
Wow. Gorgeous. <3
What does the text say?
@Xiggy
“obsessions make my life worse and my work better”
Panhandlers must have had a field day the next morning.
@Phil E. Drifter: Yes, because if there are pictures of people accomplishing something that you can never do, it’s obviously photoshopped.
waste of money if you ask me.
What are in those trays?
“waste of money if you ask me.”
Just the kind of thing you’d expect a Tony to say.
This is absolutely beautiful! What a creative medium to use.
wow..a new use for those hundreds of pennys that i have in a jar.
Muito Bom!
Hmm – better be careful. It is very cool, but next thing the government will be stepping in: Defacement of government property!
some people got WAY too much time & money on their hands!
Public art makes our lives richer. Beautiful public art makes it richest.
very nice! where is this? it looks so familiar.. I’m thinking Amsterdam just before the station?
This is beautiful! It’s very inspiring. I have quite a few pennies; not nearly that much, but enough to create some sort of art on my street. Maybe it’d bring a little cheer to this dreary neighborhood of mine. ^.^
got a lot of love for this!
Wow, this is amazing! I love it!
wOw… some of you peeps are haters!!! I can appreciate the effort it took in doing this. And the creativity, not to mention the patience!
Well done!
Art is never a waste of money or time!
hello,
Thank you for the great quality of your blog, each time i come here, i’m amazed.
black hattitude.
The light on the letters is simply terrific
People need to calm down. Not every cool thing you see on the internet is photo shopped, and not anywhere on this site do they claim that its theirs. They might not know who created it, they might just be showing off something they found that was amazing, and wanted to share it.
awesoooooomenesssssssssssssssssss
its a great use of money. money cant by you a sense of art tony
buy*
I hope they super glued them; semi permanent masterpiece!
Nice artwork, I wonder if it can be left unattenended.
Thanks for a great blog with high quality information, every time I come here, I’m amazed.
Wonderful!
nice
All the nay-sayers here are obviously either very poor, and could use the pennies, or are just not sophisticated enough to appreciate a simple artistic endeavor.
If the pennies are that important to you, I’d suggest you stop paying for internet service and us the money from that frivolous expenditure to buy food or pay your rent.
If it’s just a matter of a total lack of sophistication. Pity !
Clever, original and extraordinary. Wonderful.
Probably got fired from his job after Burger King realized the donation box was missing. Arsty Fartsy can’t make a living but can certainly throw part of one away. I hope it’s photoshopped.
I have seen quite a few ‘shops in my time and let me just say that these are quite obviously ‘shopped. You can tell by the pixels if you look close with a discerning eye.
This is not Photoshopped, watch this video from TED.com

And move the bar to 14 minutes
sweeeeetness hahaha
Ok this this is awesome its not supposed to be a big argument about how its photo shopped or fake or stolen from someone else its just something to look at. It makes you smile. Be happy that someone somewhere is bringing a glint of gold into the world
there is beauty in the world!!! what a wonderful display of it.
I love this! Public art is awesome. I wonder how much it all added up to…although it can’t be more than any other public or outdoor art piece costs
By why care? I just say enjoy it.
This is amazing! I wonder how long it took them to collect that lot? Does anyone know how much this adds up to?
